I have only heard rumors of this beverage until now.
I have had Costco's craft beer before. I thought it was expensive for having the Kirkland brand name on it, but it wasn't too bad
I went to the store today, hoping they would have this, and there it was.
Kirkland Signature Light - The bro pack.
Optimistic label is optimistic. I'm not talking about the the date, but the choice of words to describe what it is before that date arrives.
Home in the garage.
Is it better or worse than the other beers on the shelf of shame?
After !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , all I can sat is "I've had worse."

Has beer pong been revolutionized? As Oppo's resident bro, I must know the answer!
Is this in VA? Do I have to drive to VA right now?

The Newkie broon appears to be on the wrong shelf.

Is this your beer fridge? I need one of these!
![]() 01/21/2015 at 17:55 |

It really helps clear out some space in the kitchen fridge.

At least your Costco sells booze. I only have one Costco within 30 miles of me, and they don't. Neither do the next closest two that I'm aware of. I so badly want to get my hands on a bottle of Kirkland Scotch. Supposed to be some high quality stuff.

I gather that almost anything is better than Genesee.
![]() 01/21/2015 at 17:58 |

All booze in VA has to be sold in state-run stores. Beer and wine is all you can get at a grocery/costco/convenience store.

We'll see about that. This Kirkland stuff is about the same price per can as the Genny Light.
I'm letting it get cold first.. Very, very cold.
![]() 01/21/2015 at 17:59 |

Cool! Every garage should have at least one of these.
![]() 01/21/2015 at 17:59 |

Nice. If I had a garage, or basement I'm pretty sure I'd have one.

LOL at "At least one"
![]() 01/21/2015 at 18:03 |

I wish all the states would have some uniformity with this. Here in Jersey you can only buy liquor/wine/beer from a liquor store.

There's probably an optimum 'floor space to beer fridge' ratio out there somewhere?
![]() 01/21/2015 at 18:08 |

That is some cheeeap beer! If it's terrible, just use it as guest beers for visitors!

Most Kirkland Signature stuff is made by name brand companies and rebranded as Kirkland.

I haven't tried it yet, but the Costco propaganda says it is 'highly rated' in blind taste tests... I generally don't drink light beer, although I probably should start based on my waist...
RE: Fridge - when we redid the kitchen, I kept our 'old' unit in the basement next to the workbench and just inside the door from the garage... Easy access to the brain lube.

HOLY HELL! Looks like you won't be going thirsty for a while.
*adds this to my list of things I must have*

Still better than Pennsylvania though. 6 packs from bars and certain restaurants, 12 and 24 packs from beer distributors, wine and liquor only from state-run stores (except for if you go straight to the source at a winery).

Hook me up with the Strongbow pls.
Also, I wouldn't feed light "lite" beer to my dog. Hell, I wouldn't give light beer to my boss's dog

wrong brand of beer , you need VB! (Victoria Bitter)

can we get a full review on this beer? I am so tempted right now. Also, fun fact: you don't have to have a membership to buy beer at any of the membership stores, as it is illegal to require a membership for that. (at least in michigan) http://consumerist.com/2009/01/05/hey…

I brought it home last night, and put a few (shown) in the drink case. They need to be COLD before I try one.
![]() 01/22/2015 at 09:42 |

You should try a warm one! Really get that full bouquet. Ahhh, warm cheap beer. It always reminds me of the day after a party in my fraternity. The smell of nostalgia.
![]() 01/22/2015 at 09:48 |

I have not had to drink warm, cheap beer since I was in high-school. We used to hide our unfinished 12 packs in trunks of our cars, or in the garage/shed.
Fuck that.

There are a few beers that aren't bad at room temp. Light beer does not fall in this category though.

Oh, hell yes.

A St. Louis tradition: http://www.dirtcheapfunfun.com/locations/
Pretty sure this used to just have a simple black label...

Cheap cheap! Fun fun!
![]() 01/22/2015 at 17:51 |

Yes! Good times. I've tried their old black label. Once. On a float trip.

"Enjoy the journey"? As a liquor store slogan? Ha! I don't remember that line.

I remember buying a few cases for my return from St. Louis in college. I think I paid $8/case

An adult once said it kind of tastes like Coors. I'm 18 though, so I wouldn't know.
![]() 01/22/2015 at 17:59 |
|
It's all relative.
Coors Light is one of the lightest, easy to drink beers in the yellow category. If someone was used to drinking something nicer/heavier I can see how they would make that comparison.
Coors Light is a dream compared to this stuff.

Ha! Where did you go to school? I grew up in Jefferson City, started college in Rolla and still have plenty of family in St. Louis.

Can't be worse than Blanco Basura. Literally translates to White Trash. Had it freshman year in the dorms.

Never mind the beer, that packaging is awesome.

I'd take the Nawcastle.
